Reaching Beyond (to the world)...

Thailand - Joni & Nangsar Morse

P.O. Box 88 • Chang Mai, Thailand 50000
Email: jonmorse@loxinfo.co.th

Joni and Nangsar Morse are missionaries serving in Asia.  They have four children Anthony, Rebecca, Benjamin and Katherine.

For over 80 years the family of J. Russell Morse has devoted their lives to the spread of the gospel in Asia.  Today, Joni & Nangsar and their family continue to serve in Thailand.  Their missionary endeavors include: church planting, village development, Bible translation & literacy training, Christian literature production, preventative health and sanitation education, alternative crops and agricultural development, children’s education and leadership training.

The EDEN Center (our main ministry base in Chaing Mai, Thailand) has been established to help facilitate this important work.  The Center seeks to equip and multiply effective Christian workers for the purpose of carrying out this central mission of the Church.  The ministry accomplishes this in many ways ranging from translating the Bible into native languages, conducting open air outreach services to conducting Vacation Bible Schools, helping to dig and stock fish ponds, improving livestock management, conducting short-term Bible training sessions and literacy campaigns, to holding youth rallies, organizing home Bible studies and promoting cultural awareness and understanding.

Most recently, the Morses acted as the liaisons of the $2,282 sent by CCV for Burma Cyclone Relief.

Traveling Teachers - Bob & Peggy Kuest

2582 East Seville • Anaheim, Ca 92806
Email: rkuest@nms-intl.com or pkuest@nms-intl.com

Bob and Peggy Kuest traveled to Thailand and Myanmar with Ralph Brune through Anaheim First Christian Church, where Bob served as senior pastor. During that trip Ralph challenged them to consider becoming “traveling teachers” with NMSI. They began their ministry in January 1999 equipping national church leaders to teach others in Biblical Leadership, Children’s Education and Parenting Skills.  By preparing national leaders, local churches are strengthened and nationals provide training to others working among unreached people groups.

They have had the privilege of participating in ministry projects in 23 different countries including annual projectsin Thailand, Myanmar, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Malawi.

"We seek to empower the church in reaching their own people for Christ by spending two weeks to one month in each country.  We come along side national leaders to train and encourage."

Zimbabwe - Watson & Evelisa Mabona

1171 PG Sithole Road • Tshovaui • T/Ship Chiredzi, Zimbabwe • Africa
Email: hvcm@zol.co.zw

In a time when 1 in 4 Zimbabweans are infected with HIV, many have grown hardened to the gospel message.  Many churches in Zimbabwe preach that if you were really living a life that pleased God, he would heal you and bless you financially.  In droves non-Christians and fringe members have gone to these healing services looking for answers, yet more often than not they walk away, unhealed and disappointed with God.  Through Watson’s local revivals, many have been strengthened to resist this perverse doctrine that erodes away faith.
During these turbulent times Watson continues to be an anchor to the churches in southern Zimbabwe.  His ministry continues to be a vital part of church work going on in southern Zimbabwe.

Website: http://www.amor.org

At least 800,000 Mexican families struggle without basic, secure homes. Martin and Carmen Brita were two of these people. Before receiving a home, their family of five had been living in one small room. Carmen, a believer, had been praying that her husband would come to faith in Christ. But as their living conditions became more difficult, Martin rejected his wife’s faith.

“The day our family received this home,” says Martin, “I understood the message of Jesus. He gave his love without receiving anything in return.” Martin & Carmen’s experience embodies the mission of Amor. They are driven to touch the lives of families in Mexico at the point of their greatest need. Amor Ministries does more than just make life easier for a family in need, they open hearts to truly see the grace and love of Jesus by providing tangible objects of security safety and stability.

Kaleo is a new church in West Bakersfield, but they may not fit your notion of what a church is. The church isn’t a building and a parking lot, and it isn’t just people sitting in chairs, singing songs and listening to a preacher. The church is God at work through His followers. So while you may find them gathered in a building celebrating their relationship with God and encouraging each other to grow in their ability to love Him. You’re just as likely to find them out in the community demonstrating God’s love for all people through random acts of kindness and radical acts of service.
