 Herman Lippert Biography    
Minister to Senior Adults

      Herman Lippert became part-time ministerial staff of the Ming Avenue Christian Church in October 1992 and helped with the transition of the church family to the current location where they took the name Christ's Church of the Valley. Following the move he was given the specail area of ministry to "Senior Adults."

Herman was born October 3, 1923 in Fellows, Kern County, California. He attended local schools - Midway Grammer School, Taft High and Taft Junior College. He was a 3 position welder in Cal Shipyard in 1942. He then in the army from 1943 to 1945 involved in frontline combat in France, Germany and Austria with the 103rd infantry division.

While in the army he made the decision to enter some special ministry for Christ and His church. The army has sent him to Texam A&M University for 2 1/2 semesters. After WWII he attended Cinncinati Bible Seminary (BSL); Anderson College & Theological Seminary (BA); Butler University and Pacific Christian College (MA).

Herman served as Senior Minister in 4 different churches - Church of Christ, Wilkinson, Indiana; Rexland Christian Church, Bakersfield, CA (now Christ's Church of the Valley), Camarillo Christian Church, Camarillo, CA; University Ave Christian Church, Bakersfield, CA. Current ministry as mentioned above is part of a 60-year ministry begun with his ordination May 30, 1948.

On June 2, 1948 he married his wonderful wife, Peggy Jean Ensor, who was reared in Maricopa before she and her mother moved to Taft. She aids his ministry greatly with her talents and servant's heart. Theya are the proud parents of 3 very talented and active children. Beverly Maloney whose husband is Charlie, Senior Minister of Camarillo Christian Church; Michael Lippert who plays guitar on the Worship Team and helps in all kinds of work on the church facilities. Michael is encouraged by a very active wife, Dawn. Barbara Waggoner who helps greatly with the Worship Team and other activities that often uses her computer skills. Her husband Allen is also very active as a deacon and trustee in the Church.

Herman's favorite things include: God, family, church, soul winning, pastoring, USA!, music, laughter and dogs. He has also been known to play practical jokes!
